CBPP Vaccine

Our CBPP vaccine is a freeze-dried live attenuated bacterial vaccine produced using T1 44 or T1 SR strains of Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. mycoides Small Colony (MmmSC).

Contagious bovine pleuropneumonia (CBPP) vaccines are routinely used only in Africa. The vaccines are usually produced from one of two strains (T1/44 and KH3J), each of which has a streptomycin-resistant variant. The necessity for a 'master seed strain' is evident.

• Each dose contains at least 107 viable Mycoplasma organisms.
• It is used for the prevention of Cattle pneumonia (CBPP).
• 100 doses per vial for 100 cattle diluted with normal saline and administered 1ml subcutaneously.
• Vaccinate only apparently healthy animals.

Storage of CBPP vaccine

• At -20 ºC minimum for 24 months.

How to reconstitute

• 100 ml of sterile cold saline water solution is used to reconstitute the vaccine.
• The reconstituted vaccine must be protected from light and heat and must be used immediately (the maximum limit is one hour when kept under cold condition).

CBPP Vaccine administration

• Inject 1 ml of the reconstituted vaccine only subcutaneously. Vaccinate all animals above the age of 6 months.

CBPP

• Contagious Bovine Pleuropneumonia (CBPP) is a disease of cattle caused by Mycoplasma mycoides subspecies mycoides small colonies (bovine biotype).
• The disease is manifested by anorexia, fever, and respiratory symptoms such as dyspnoea, polypnoea cough, and nasal discharges.
